Replacing the battery in the keys used, among others, by Volkswagen Passacie, may initially seem complicated and difficult. That is why we have prepared this short guide which is an instruction manual describing step by step the whole process of battery replacement.

This is what we need to replace

• a small flatbed screwdriver
• battery CR2032

he exchange starts with removing the top cover of the key.

First, press the small button on the cover (2) and remove the blade of the emergency key (4).

Then move the upper cover in the direction as shown in the picture above.

After removing the upper cover we have to split the key (1,2) using a simple screwdriver (3).

When the key(1) is unlocked we have convenient access to the battery(2).

To remove the CR2032 battery we use a screwdriver.

When installing a new battery, remember to pay attention to the position of the poles. The transmitter should work immediately without programming. Finally, lock the other half of the key, slide on the top cover and insert the emergency key.
